Sunday night at the movies with Oscar...looking to be scared out of our wits....and therefore quite disappointed with Gothika...
Halle Berry performs only sporadically well. Penelope Cruz has far the better role and walks away with the film. Robert Downey Jr could have done a lot more if used properly.
This movie started with a lot of promise and just petered out....it did have great visuals, an increasingly weak and transparent plot, and very poor dialogue...
The best review line I have read so far is:
"Scriptwriter Sebastian Gutierrez and French director Mathieu (Hate) Kassovitz treat this movie with all the subtlety of a Judas Priest music video."
